Who's speaking? Fixing speaker names
The transcript first separates voices ("Speaker A", "Speaker B"), then names them from context: roll call, people addressing each other ("Thank you, Councilor Lee"), introductions, and your board's member list.
Correct a name
Under Who's speaking? on the meeting page, each voice is listed with sample lines. Change a name and save; the transcript updates, and you can Redraft so the minutes use the corrected names.
Getting it right more often
- Enter your members with titles on the board page. Names and titles in the draft come from this list.
- Take roll call out loud. When the clerk calls each name and the member answers, that voice is identified for the rest of the meeting.
- Say the mover and seconder. When the chair restates the motion ("We have a motion from Councilor Lee and a second from Councilor Alvarez"), the draft records them correctly even when voices overlap.
- Use a microphone near the members, not one at the back of the room.
When we aren't sure who made or seconded a motion, the draft says "⚠ check" rather than guessing.
