Meetings with other languages

Transcription follows speakers who switch between English and Spanish (and other common languages) during a meeting.

  • Remarks in another language are transcribed in that language and marked in the transcript, with a machine English translation line beneath.
  • The minutes summarize the remark in English, say which language was used, and add a note asking you to verify the translation.
  • If an interpreter gave an English version during the meeting, the draft prefers it.

Machine translations are for reference. For anything that matters to the record, check with someone who speaks the language.
