Certificates of posting

Every time you post an agenda or approved minutes, CivicPorch saves a certificate of posting. It's your record that notice was given, and when.

What it shows

• the board, meeting and scheduled date and time;
• the exact date and time the agenda was posted to your public web page, in your time zone;
• the public web address where it was posted;
• a SHA-256 fingerprint of the posted content, so you can show later that the posted version wasn't altered;
• your state's deadline for that meeting, with the statute, and whether the posting was on time;
• who posted it.

Finding and printing it

Open the meeting and look under Posting record. Each posting has a Certificate of posting link; open it and click Print. Many clerks keep a printed or PDF copy in the meeting file.

Reposting

If you change an agenda and post it again, you get another certificate. The deadline check is judged against each posting, so a late change shows as late.

Web posting may not be the only notice your state requires (for example a physical bulletin board or newspaper notice for some hearings). The certificate covers web posting.
