Security, privacy and records

• Encryption: everything is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
• Separation: each town's data is isolated, and automated tests check that one account can never see another's.
• No AI training: your recordings, transcripts, minutes and corrections are never used to train AI models. What CivicPorch learns about your names and style stays within your account.
• Human review: AI drafts are never published without the clerk's review and approval.
• Recordings: the audio or video file is deleted 90 days after the meeting's minutes are approved. The transcript and minutes remain.
• Records: approved minutes, posted agendas and certificates of posting stay available; transcripts and captions download as files, and we provide a full export on request.
• Sign-in: passwords are hashed and sign-in attempts are rate-limited. Use a password you don't use elsewhere.
