Boards and members
Each council, board, commission or committee you run is a board in CivicPorch. Every board gets its own meetings, members and section on your public page.
Add a board
On the dashboard, type the board's name and click Add. The free plan includes one board; each additional board is $10 a month or $100 a year. See Plans and pricing.
Enter members
Open the board and add each member with their title (Chair, Vice Chair, Councilor, Member). Terms are optional. Members matter more than they look:
- the minutes use their names and titles exactly as you enter them;
- the draft checks attendance and flags a missing quorum against this list;
- speaker identification uses it to decide who made and seconded motions.
When someone leaves the board, delete them or set a term end.
Board settings
- Minutes style: Action (motions and votes only), Summary (short discussion summaries) or Detailed (who said what, not verbatim). See the guide on minutes styles.
- Agenda notice (hours): leave at 0 to use your state's rule, or set your own if local rules require more notice.
- YouTube channel: optional, shown on the public page.
- Archive: hides the board and frees it on your plan. Archived boards keep their history.
If your plan has fewer paid boards than active ones (for example after a cancellation), the newest boards become read-only until you add a board or archive one.
