Florida open meetings: agenda and minutes deadlines
| Regular meeting agenda / notice | 72 hours before the meeting |
|---|---|
| Special meeting notice | 24 hours |
| Minutes | No fixed statutory deadline |
| Law | Sunshine Law, Fla. Stat. §286.011 ("reasonable notice") |

What to know
The statute requires reasonable notice rather than fixed hours; 72 hours (24 for special meetings) is common practice. Minutes must be promptly recorded.
Local charters, ordinances and board bylaws often require more notice than state law. When they do, follow the stricter rule — in CivicPorch you can set a board's own notice period and reminders use it.
Work out a deadline
This is general information, not legal advice. Statutes have exceptions (emergencies, recessed meetings, holidays) — check with your solicitor or municipal attorney when in doubt.
